Based in Cirencester, the Smart TMS Patient Support Team work behind the scenes to ensure the best patient care possible.

Although you aren’t likely to meet them face to face, they will be at the end of the phone or an email away should you need them at any point throughout your treatment.

As Patient Care Co-Ordinator, Melanie follows the progress of every patient in each of our clinics, liaising with GPs, psychiatrists and the Smart TMS care teams. She also oversees the small team of patient advisors to make sure your treatment journey is as smooth as possible.

You are most likely to speak to Melanie once you’ve had your first course of treatment. She will be there to help you book a review if needed, subsequent treatment courses and any aftercare packages you choose. A fan of a good list (or 10), your care is Melanie’s main concern and she enjoys hearing the change in the voices of the patients who have recovered from debilitating mental health conditions.

Lucy is a dedicated Patient Advisor who will be a point of contact when you first inquire about TMS. She’s here to help you navigate the initial stages of your treatment journey, from answering phone and website enquiries to booking your treatment sessions. Lucy is knowledgeable about TMS and is committed to addressing any concerns you may have, ensuring a smooth and reassuring start to your treatment process.

Lara is one of our Patient Advisors who will be in contact when you enquire about TMS. She’s here to answer your questions and guide you through every step of your treatment journey, from arranging assessments to booking TMS sessions and ensuring ongoing care after treatment. Lara also handles private insurance queries and referrals, assisting with the paperwork and coordination needed to make your treatment as seamless as possible.

Fleur works alongside Melanie and Lucy to provide the best possible service to people enquiring about TMS, be it the patient themselves, a friend/family member or a medical professional. With her extremely caring tone, Fleur is quick to build strong relationships with the people she speaks to, helping them to decide on the best course of treatment. Fleur will do whatever she can to help, often calling patients each day to break the process down into smaller, more manageable tasks.

Gerard Barnes founded Smart TMS in 2015 with Medical Director Dr Leigh Neal.

Gerard’s background is in finance and he has worked extensively within the healthcare sector in a number of different companies.

He is actively involved in representing Smart TMS in the media, where is he an expert spokesperson on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and the conditions it can help to treat.

He has been key to driving the company’s expansion from its initial location in London, building a network of locations across the UK and Ireland.

Based at Smart TMS’s head office in Gloucestershire, Gerard is committed to ensuring high standards of patient care throughout.
