Smart TMS has opened its first clinic in Scotland, based in Edinburgh, offering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment for depression, addiction and a range of mental health conditions.
This location also makes rTMS treatment more accessible for those based in the North East of England as well as Scotland, providing the company’s most northerly clinic and the first open in 2019.

Clients will be able to attend for courses of the innovative non-invasive treatment which uses magnets to stimulate the brain instead of medication.
The treatment is best known for treating depression and has been approved by NICE for this purpose. However, excellent results are also seen in the treatment of the cravings associated with addiction; including cocaine, meth, nicotine (cigarette smoking), gambling and alcohol.
In addition, TMS treatment can also be helpful in treating conditions such as anxiety, OCD, PTSD, insomnia, borderline personality disorder and depersonalisation disorder.
