The clinic specialises in the provision of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment for a range of difficult mental health and addiction conditions. TMS therapy is a safe and completely non-invasive treatment which involves no medication, surgery or anaesthetic. Daily sessions are carried out by our trained technicians over a few weeks, as the effectiveness of treatment builds up over a course of treatment.
Thanks to excellent road and rail links, Smart TMS is easily accessible for patients across the Midlands.

HOW TO GET HERE
Smart TMS Birmingham is conveniently located just a few minutes away from Birmingham City Centre. Five Ways station is within walking distance and regular buses stop on Harborne Road, just around the corner from the clinic.
Parking
There is plenty of free parking available at the clinic for those choosing to travel by car.
Conditions we treat
TMS has been proven to treat depression and anxiety as well as other mental health conditions and some addictions. Smart TMS was the first UK clinic to offer TMS treatment for conditions other than depression.
Most of the patients we treat here at Smart TMS (around 70%) are suffering from clinical depression – including seasonal affective disorder (SAD), perinatal depression and bipolar disorder.
We also offer TMS treatment for the following conditions:
- generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)
- addictions to drugs, smoking and alcohol
- obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- depersonalisation disorder (DPD)
- borderline personality disorder (BPD)

Lorelei-Jane
Practitioner
Lorelei-Jane completed a Psychology BSc (Hons) at the University of Birmingham, studying a variety psychological, cognitive and biological topics including neuroimaging and neurostimulation techniques, neurodevelopmental disorders and used TMS in her dissertation research into Autism and Schizophrenia. Lorelei-Jane is passionate about mental health and ensuring every patient receives the very best care.
Through her role as a mental health first aider and Special Constable she has gained invaluable knowledge and experience in providing care and support to individuals with a variety of mental health conditions. Thus, ensuring patients have the best possible care when visiting Smart TMS.
In her free time Lorelei-Jane enjoys watching movies, reading and going to theme parks.
