Meet the Newcastle team
Holly - TMS practitioner
Holly’s interest in the human mind began at a young age, inspiring her to pursue a BSc in Psychology (Clinical), followed by an MSc in Health Psychology. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in the relationship between physical and mental health, with a particular focus on the mind-body connection and neurodegenerative diseases. Her dissertations explored the effects of priming paradigms on cognition and self-esteem in older adults, and the psychological impact of abnormal uterine bleeding for people who menstruate.
Over the years, Holly has gained hands-on experience in both patient care and research through completing an internship at the N.E.R.V.E. Lab, working as a research assistant, and as a care assistant at an older adult day centre. These roles allowed her to witness the power of empathy and understanding, the importance of developing innovative research, and the need to improve access to psychological support and resources. Her experiences have deepened her passion for mental health and strengthened her commitment to supporting others on their journey to recovery.
In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time at the beach, travelling, playing netball, reading and rock climbing with friends.
