Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) & Memory Loss: An Overview

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. It's primarily used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD), particularly in patients who have not responded to antidepressant medication and psychotherapy¹,². However, the potential benefits of TMS extend beyond depression treatment, with ongoing research into its effects on various neurological and mental health disorders, including TMS treatment for memory loss. 

The Potential of TMS in Treating Memory Loss

 Does TMS affect memory negatively?
