Daily Mail: Christopher Maloney Depression ‘In Remission’

Christopher Maloney says that his depression is now in remission, thanks to transcranial magnetic stimulation at Smart TMS – which he calls ‘brain shock’ treatment.

The article was entitled:

“Christopher Maloney reveals his depression is ‘in remission’ following brain shock therapy”

Christopher Maloney speaks openly about his battles with depression and anxiety in his new autobiography, Wildcard. Ahead of the book’s release, he told the Mirror that at one point, he struggled to leave the house.

However, Chris says that his depression is now in remission after having transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy:

“I had brain shock treatment to stop my anxiety and depression. It took three months to do. It’s called Smart TMS and what they do is put a magnetic pulse on your brain and send shocks through to reduce the activity to the right side of the brain which causes anxiety and depression.

“I had that for three months and it’s actually gone into remission because of it.”

The Daily Mail feature explains further:

“The therapy treatment is offered by Smart TMS – specifically Transcranial Magnetic Therapy (TMS) which is colloquially known as ‘magnetic brain therapy’.

“TMS treatment uses a series of targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate the areas of the brain impacted by mental health conditions in order to reduce the symptoms.”
