X Factor Christopher Maloney TMS Treatment on Loose Women

X Factor star Chris Maloney appeared on Loose Women, sharing his experience of recovering from depression and anxiety with transcranial magnetic stimulation at Smart TMS.

Since his previous appearance, Christopher has had major life-changing treatment. He explains that the previous time he visited Loose Women, he could barely look in the mirror:

“I had really, really bad anxiety and loads of body issues and everything like that, but I’ve been going through a treatment called TMS.”

Presenter Andrea McLean asked how it worked and Christopher explained:

“…it’s like a machine they put on your brain and it reduces the activity of depression and anxiety. I’ve had 15 sessions out of 30 and after the first 4 it’s gone! I mean I’m not cured, but it’s amazing, absolutely amazing.”

Previously, he’d physically shaken at the thought of looking in the mirror and had been consumed by thoughts of surgical and non-surgical procedures to improve his appearance. He says:

“Now I don’t even think about it.”

He says that anxiety and depression were the root of his body worries:

“It was more to do with the anxiety and the sort of depression I was going through. It’s amazing.

“It’s not on the National Health, not on the NHS, but it really should be rolled out.”

Stacey Solomon asked whether he’d tried any talking therapies alongside TMS, as she herself said she’d tried CBT for her own anxiety, but Christopher declared

“No, that’s all…

“It just sends magnetic pulses to the brain, where it’s overreacting”

The interview was broadcast on 28/08/2018.
