rTMS Introduction & Demonstration
Open Evening & Breakfast
Smart TMS’s Birmingham team are opening their latest clinic with a series of events for local health professionals to introduce and demonstrate the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation system.
An introduction and demonstration open evening and breakfast will be held at their Birmingham rTMS clinic, based at The Consulting Rooms, 38 Harborne Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 3EB
SMART TMS BIRMINGHAM
Smart rTMS offers repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), a new noninvasive therapy which uses a highly concentrated magnetic field produced by a treatment coil to treat depression. rTMS was approved by NICE for the treatment of depression in December 2015.
In addition, unlike other clinics, we are also offering treatment for other conditions where there is an adequate evidence base. We will discuss our results in more detail during the evening.
The full range of medical conditions for which we are offering treatment at our Birmingham clinic is:
- Depression, as approved by NICE
- Cocaine Addiction
- Anxiety
- PTSD
Professor Alex O’Neill Kerr
Professor Alex O’Neill Kerr and the Smart team will provide an insight to rTMS, treatment protocols, our clinics, etc.
Professor O’Neill Kerr has over 25 years’ experience as a general adult consultant psychiatrist and is the Medical Director of Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
rTMS Patient Perspective
An rTMS patient, who received treatment from us within the last year will also be attending to give feedback from a patient’s perspective.
Event Details
A drinks reception will commence from 6pm on 11th October, followed by the introduction and demonstration at 6.30pm. The following morning, we shall meet at 7.30am with the view to begin at 8am, with ample time being given for Q&A during the sessions and afterwards.

These events are for health professionals and will qualify for one hour’s CPD.
